Skilled Nursing Care

Windber Woods has prided itself for many years as being a compassionate and caring facility. Over the years, our facility has been the home for over two thousand residents.

Windber Woods’ skilled nursing section is licensed for 127 beds.

We are Medicare- and Medicaid-certified. We offer both short-term rehabilitation and long-term admissions. Health professionals, including experienced physicians, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and certified nursing assistants, are available to care for our residents. Individual therapies are prescribed by the resident’s attending physician and administered by qualified therapists.

Special attention is given to the dietary needs of all of our residents. A registered dietitian consultant meets with individuals to assure your loved ones’ dietary needs are personally and properly met. Meals are served in our pleasant dining areas, which allow for socializing with others while enjoying the meal.

Spiritual Services

Spiritual services are provided under the direction of the chaplain, Pastor Cecil Lohr. A non-denominational service is held each Sunday and Catholic Mass is celebrated with Communion on Friday. Area ministers, priests and laypersons volunteer their time for these services to meet the variety of denominational needs represented in the home.

Leisure Hours

Leisure hours are pleasantly filled with crafts, games, outings, picnics, shopping trips, and parties to name a few. Residents are encouraged to take part in social, recreational and religious activities according to their abilities and interests. Cozy, comfortable lounges and living areas provide the perfect places for visits with family and friends or just relaxing and reading.
